Girls Inc. members learn about animation technology

Girls Inc. of Orange County, a Costa Mesa-based nonprofit, recently took a group of teens on a field trip to a Los Angeles motion-capture and animation studio for a firsthand look at the industry.
The Nov. 11 trip to House of Moves was organized by Marla Rausch, CEO and founder of Irvine-based Animation Vertigo, an outsource management company that provides motion-capture and animation work to the entertainment industry, according to a news release.
The girls tried on motion-capture suits, acted out battle scenes and learned about the technology.
“It was an honor to work with Girls Inc. of Orange County for this event,” Rausch said in a prepared statement. “Empowering young women, especially when it comes to their interest in the technology industry, is near to my heart. I hope the girls who came to the studio had fun, made a connection with the industry and, ultimately, found inspiration to pursue a career in animation technology.”
