Newport Beach police Tuesday asked for the public’s help in identifying a man who robbed a Corona del Mar bank on Halloween.
Police say the man walked into the Union Bank at 2865 E. Coast Hwy., showed a teller a gun and demanded cash at around 2 p.m. Friday.
The man then fled on foot, police said.
The robber wore a baseball cap and beige long-sleeve shirt and carried a black bag. He ditched the bag, hat and shirt nearby, police said.
Investigators described him as white, in his 30s or 40s, 6 feet tall and 180 pounds with a medium build.
Police ask that anyone with information about the man contact Det. Garrett Fitzgerald at (949) 644-3797 or [email protected].
Anonymous tips can be called in to 800-550-NBPD (6273).
