Irvine Hebrew school welcomes first class
The newly formed Irvine Hebrew Day School welcomed its first class of kindergartners on Wednesday.
The school is an independent Jewish day school rooted in the philosophy of modern Orthodox Judaism.
Its first classroom is currently housed at the Olam Jewish Montessori preschool at Beth Jacob Congregation of Irvine on Michelson Drive. However, the school is not affiliated with the Montessori preschool.
School administrators hope to add at least one grade each year and expand into a larger facility.
The school was created to provide “an affordable, rigorous and high-quality Jewish and modern secular education” for students, according to the school’s website.
