Firefighters’ training starts in Fairview Park
Members of the Orange County Fire Authority and the Costa Mesa Fire Department began a three-day training exercise in Fairview Park on Thursday.
The drills will help firefighters better suppress any wildfires in Fairview Park and adjacent Talbert Regional Park, a county facility, Fire Chief Dan Stefano said in a prepared statement this week. No actual fires will be started during the training, he added.
The firefighters are scheduled to train in the 150-acre Costa Mesa park on Friday and Wednesday.
