Orange Coast College handed out more than 500 scholarships to students during its 56th annual Honors Night ceremony Wednesday evening.
The scholarships will contribute more than $400,000 toward students’ educational costs, a new record for the college, said OCC Foundation Director Doug Bennett.
Last year, the college distributed 438 awards totaling $382,000.
The awards are funded by private donors, civic groups and OCC faculty and staff, according to a news release.
Associated Students of Orange Coast College sponsored the event. The culinary arts and hospitality programs catered.
More information about donating for scholarships is available at the foundation’s website, https://www.orangecoastcollege.edu/about_occ/Foundation/Pages/default.aspx.
