Police seek motel robbery suspect
Costa Mesa police are looking for a man who strong-armed his way into a motel room Tuesday morning and stole electronics from inside.
The victim, a 49-year-old man from Riverside, was staying at the Harbor Bay Motel at 2026 Harbor Blvd. when there was a knock at his room’s door about 10:45 a.m., according to police.
A man asked for a cigarette before forcing his way into the room and pushing the victim to the ground, Costa Mesa police Lt. Greg Scott said.
Police said the robber took a laptop, cell phone and credit card that were nearby in the room.
The suspect is a white man, about 30 years old, roughly 190 pounds with short blond hair, police said.
He was last seen riding a motorized bicycle north on Harbor Boulevard.
