Killed motorcyclist identified as Newport resident

Authorities have released the name of a Newport Beach man who died Friday after a motorcycle crash in Newport Beach.

Anthony Pantoja, 22, was riding a motorcycle that hit a parked car at 2611 Newport Blvd. on Nov. 14, according to the Orange County coroner.

Pantoja was taken to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana, where he died, according to the coroner.

The car Pantoja hit was parked legally. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, according to Newport Beach Police Department spokeswoman Kathy Lowe.
