Gala to aid Estancia and TeWinkle

The Estancia TeWinkle Schools Foundation is raising money Saturday night for a marching band at Estancia High School and band room equipment at TeWinkle Middle School.

Each year, the foundation holds a gala where it recognizes distinguished alumni.

This year the event will honor Estancia graduates Assemblyman Allan Mansoor from the class of 1982 and Daniel Foster, a U.S. Army Specialist and Silver Star Medal recipient from the class of 2006.

The foundation was founded in 2003 with the help of a $1-million grant from C.J. Segerstrom & Sons.

With the proceeds from the original endowment and the gala, the foundation gives more than $50,000 a year to Estancia and TeWinkle, according to a news release.

The event starts at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Mesa Verde Country Club, 3000 Club House Road in Costa Mesa. Tickets are $85 per person.
