Voicemail fails for Cox customers
Cox Communications customers in parts of Laguna Beach, Newport Beach and Irvine have been without voicemail services for a week, a company spokeswoman said Tuesday.
Costa Mesa customers were not affected.
Ceanne Guerra said the glitch is due to a hardware issue, and there is no estimated repair time yet.
Cox is temporarily adding free call forwarding for all its customers. Customers can have calls to their landlines sent to a mobile or work number.
Only a portion of phone customers who use voicemail were affected, Guerra said.
Cox said it cannot release the number of customers affected because it is a private company that doesn’t release customer information.
