Young man’s body found in parking lot
COSTA MESA — A 20-year-old man’s body found in the Estancia High School parking lot early Saturday was likely dropped off there after the person died, police said.
At about 3:30 a.m. Saturday, Costa Mesa police received an anonymous phone call from someone reporting an unconscious person lying in the high school’s parking lot, said Sgt. Bryan Wadkins. Police responded and found the body.
The man’s death appears suspicious and police are investigating it as a homicide, a standard practice in unsolved deaths, Wadkins said.
Authorities would not release the identity of the body pending notification of next of kin. Officials also would not say if the body had any signs of trauma.
