Police ask drivers to slow down on Nyes Place

The Laguna Beach Police Department is asking for the public’s cooperation in reducing speeds along Nyes Place.
Traffic officers have been directed to increase enforcement on the road, which has a steep hill making it difficult for drivers to stop when necessary, police said.
“We have increased enforcement because the residents in the area have continuously reported speeding vehicles when children are present or during early morning and evening hours,” Capt. Jason Kravetz wrote in an email.
Nyes is a main way for the Arch Beach Heights neighborhoods to connect with South Coast Highway.
