Laguna Beach residents can now place an unlimited amount of leaves next to their green waste cart on trash pick-up days, according to a city news release.
The new leaf collection program is part of the city’s contract with Waste Management that will run from Oct. 1 through Feb. 28 each year, the release said.
Residents can place plastic green waste bags filled with leaves on top of or beside the cart. The bags must not exceed 5 feet in length or weigh more than 50 pounds.
Waste management will also host a free composting class for Laguna residents later this month.
The class will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Oct. 26 at the Susi Q Center, 380 Third St., and attendees may buy compost and worm bins at a discounted price.
For more information, contact class instructor Lisa Ryder at (310) 874-2499 or [email protected].
