A portion of Laguna Canyon Road will be closed in both directions for 90 minutes Wednesday, according to a Laguna Beach police news release.
Traffic investigators will study an area in the 2200 block from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Nina Fitzpatrick, a 22-year-old Laguna College of Art + Design student, was killed after she was hit by a car while crossing the street in April.
Laguna Canyon Road will be closed to northbound traffic (commuters leaving Laguna Beach) at Canyon Acres Drive, though residents with proper identification may proceed to the 2100 block, the release says.
Drivers heading toward Laguna will stop at El Toro Road, though residents will be able to travel to an area north of Big Bend.
Police will send out multiple traffic alerts via text messages beginning late Tuesday through the end of the closure.
