A Long Beach woman whose body was found in her car at the intersection of Amberwood Circle and Tradewinds Street in Fountain Valley last month has been identified as 26-year-old Phia Marie Albanese, Fountain Valley police spokesman Sgt. Donald Farmer said Tuesday.
Albanese was pronounced dead at the scene when police responded to a call at about 6:11 p.m. the evening of Monday, July 19. Fountain Valley police began a homicide investigation after discovering that Albanese had sustained a gunshot wound.
On Tuesday, officers attempted to serve a homicide search warrant in Los Angeles County, and a high-speed chase ensued, according to a news release. The pursuit ended with the two people inside the suspected vehicle surrendering and being taken into custody.
Farmer declined to state whether the ongoing homicide investigation and the vehicle pursuit could be tied together.
