A male pedestrian died early Saturday morning following a two-car traffic collision in Fountain Valley.
Police said they responded to a call shortly after 2:30 a.m. reporting a traffic collision at the intersection of Warner Avenue and Euclid Street. A blue Chrysler Pacifica and a white Jeep Grand Cherokee, both traveling northbound on Euclid, struck a pedestrian in a wheelchair that was attempting to cross Euclid along Warner.
He was first struck by the minivan, then by the SUV.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Lt. Kham Vang said Monday that the man, estimated to be of about 50 to 60 years of age, is still unidentified by the Orange County coroner. Both drivers are said to have remained on the scene and were cooperative with the investigation.
A preliminary investigation showed that neither driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
