Gang member arrested after alleged threats on teen
A Costa Mesa gang member suspected of threatening a 15-year-old boy was arrested Wednesday after walking into the Costa Mesa Police Station for a routine probation check, according to police.
On Aug. 29, George Quintero, 21, allegedly approached the teen thinking he was a rival gang member, and shoved him in the face with an open hand and threatened to stab him with a knife, Costa Mesa Police Sgt. Phil Myers said.
Quintero then fled the scene in the 800 block of West 18th Street.
He is being charged with criminal threats and assault with a deadly weapon.
