The critically acclaimed documentary “Finding Vivian Maier” will kick off the next season of First Friday Flicks at the Forum on Jan. 2.
The film is about a mysterious nanny who secretly took more than 100,000 photographs that were hidden in storage lockers. Discovered decades later, the artwork earned Maier a posthumous reputation as one of the most accomplished street photographers.
The free film is not rated and has a running time of 83 minutes.
It will be shown at 7 p.m. in the Forum Theatre at the Festival of Arts grounds, 650 Laguna Canyon Road. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and seating is first-come, first-served.
Laguna Beach residents Steve Chadima and Mark Porterfield funded the program.
The next movie dates are Feb. 6 and March 6.
