The Laguna Art Museum presents “A Collector’s Odyssey: A Conversation with Gene Crain” from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday.
The local collector will join historical art curator Janet Blake for a conversation about collecting paintings by and interacting with his favorite artists, including Millard Sheets, Phil Dike, Rex Brandt, Joan Irving and Emil Kosa.
“Travels with Millard Sheets, 1950-1986” will be on display from 5 to 6 p.m. Admission is free and includes wine.
The venue, located at 307 Cliff Drive, will also team up with Laguna Beach Live! to host ensemble Triada Guitar Trio at 7 p.m. April 10.
Admission to Live! at the Museum, which is presented the second Thursday of each month, ranges from $5 to $7. Members are admitted for free.

The Sawdust Art Festival kicks off its “Spring Into Art” workshop series Saturday.
Hosted at 935 Laguna Canyon Road, the hands-on classes offer instruction in glassblowing, painting, photography, ceramics and more. Guests are also welcome April 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, 26 and 27.
Admission ranges from $95 to $275.
