Boutique Benefit

Donated clothes and accessories from residents and area businesses will be sold at the fifth annual Boutique Benefit fundraiser at the Laguna Presbyterian Church. Proceeds benefit the Laguna Relief and Resource Center.

Dunk-a-Cop

The Laguna Beach Police Employee’s Assn. is hosting the inaugural “Dunk-a-Cop” fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Main Beach at the cobblestones. It’s $1 per throw to dunk a Laguna cop, and all proceeds will go to the Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach.

Animal Crackers Benefit

A benefit for Animal Crackers Pet Rescue will be from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Aliso Creek Inn, 31106 S. Coast Hwy. Minimum donation is $50 per person. For more information, call (949) 499-0111.

Volunteer Training

The Laguna Canyon Foundation is holding a volunteer orientation for the Laguna Coast Wilderness Park and Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Parks from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Nix Nature Center. Town Hall Meeting

The Laguna Beach League of Women Voters is sponsoring a town hall meeting about government’s role in public education from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Neighborhood Congressional Church, 340 St. Ann’s Drive.

E-Waste Recycling

Drop off your unwanted electronics for disposal from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 550 Blumont St. Devices including computers, TVs, cables and printers are welcome. On-site confidential document shredding will also be provided. For more information, call (949) 464-3200.

Local Author at Bookstore

Ed Kaufman, author of “From Monks to Mountain Gorillas: A Family’s Global Journey,” will appear at 5 p.m. at Laguna Beach Books, 1200 S. Coast Hwy, Suite 105. He will read from the book, answer questions and sign copies. The event is free.

Fall Education Series

St. Mary’s Episcopal Church hosts an adult education series from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. on the beliefs and practices of other faiths. The church is at 428 Park Ave.

‘The Dignity of Difference’

Rev. Colin Henderson will give a talk on “The Dignity of Difference” at 10:30 a.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 429 Cypress Drive. At noon, there will be a sandwich lunch with more time to talk with Henderson.

TOWNA Picnic

The Top of the World

Neighborhood Assn. (TOWNA) will hold its annual neighborhood picnic from 3 to 5 p.m. at Alta Laguna Park. All are invited. Bring your favorite dish to share at this potluck-style dinner.

Fiesta Laguna

The Laguna Beach Patriots Day Parade committee will meet at 7 p.m. to begin planning the 46th annual parade set for March 3, 2012.
